The SHR-1 Forage Sprayer System is a basic tank mix unit with tank, pump, and flow controls for easy application of forage treatment products.
SPECIFICATIONS:
TANK: 25, 50 or 75-gallon capacity – ULV stabilized.
25, 50 or 75-gallon crosslink polyethylene tank, acid resistant, ULV stabilized (resists deterioration in sunlight).
Bottom drain. Can be cross connected to dual tank for extra gallons and longer running time.
Top vented with 100 mesh screen to eliminate contamination by drawing dust from crop into tank as tank pressure equalizes in tank.
Raised fill spout to prevent dust from entering tank when refilling.
Molded with built-in sump so maximum amount of liquid is usable.
Equipped with return from regulator valve for mixing while running.
Fittings spin welded into tank and threaded with standard pipe threads.
Mounted in steel frame for easy mounting on all types of equipment.

Pressure regulator valve with locking nut can be set from 10 to 60 psi, to set flow rates to match application requirements.

STEP 1 – MOUNTING THE TANK
On side or underneath swather: The mounting braces are furnished (at extra cost). Mount solid enough to support the weight of full applicator. When full of water, the sprayer will weigh 280 to 900 pounds. Make the mounting brackets fit the holes in the bottom pan frame of the unit.
STEP 2 – ATTACHMENT OF SPRAY HOSE, FLOW METER AND FILTER ASSEMBLY
Attach spray hose onto the fitting under the tank at the pressure relief valve. Run the hose to flow meter (mounted where visible). Then to filter assembly, use clamps to secure the hose to the fittings.
Run the hose over to the equipment feed intake. Secure with quick ties out of the way of moving parts.
STEP 3 – SPRAY HEAD BRACKET
Mount spray head to allow a spray width of 4-5 feet. Spray pattern should be wide enough for spray to cover the width of the feed, for good coverage from side-to-side. Mount behind the gathering auger and in front of the conditioner. Mount for even spray distribution. Mount on deflector shield if possible.
STEP 4 – SPRAY HEAD
Place nozzle body through the spray bar and secure with the body nut tightened against the spray head. Adjust the bar angle for good spray patterns. Attach the hose to the spray head.
STEP 5 – WIRING THE UNIT
Attach black wire (neg.) to neg. wire on accessory plug. Attach the red wire (pos.) to the 12-volt accessory plug (positive wire), with good connectors (center post is positive). Turn the unit switch “ON” and “OFF” to make sure you have good connections.
STEP 6 – CHECK OUT THE SYSTEM
Put 5 gallons of clean water in the tank. Turn on the unit. Flush out the system by removing the nozzle and screen. Replace the nozzle and screen – adjust the flow rate to 10-12 ounces per minute. Use a measuring cup with an ounce scale on its’ side. Time the flow for 60 seconds. Adjust the flow rate by turning the flow adjustment handle and retighten the nut to secure the correct flow rate.
STEP 7 – ADJUST THE NOZZLE BAR
Adjust the nozzle bar for best position for maximum coverage of feed intake or chopper or swather.
STEP 8 – FILL AND MIX
Fill the tank up to the desired level for spray application according to the application rate directions. Use the formulas provided by inoculant manufacturers.
