Research done at the University of Georgia showed that Excellâ„¢ improved feed efficiency and rate of gain on young animals when being fed in the creep. Sixty 400# Angus steers were fed 1 of 3 diets: control, creep only, and creep plus Excellâ„¢ fed at the recommended rate for cattle for 63 days. Steers on the creep plus Excellâ„¢ treatment gained 4 lbs. MORE weight on .78 lbs LESS feed. More weight on less feed results in a positive ROI for producers.
Feed efficiency on Excellâ„¢ improved by 11.2 % requiring 0.78 lb. less feed for additional 4 lbs. of gain
Excellâ„¢ produced 16.2% more total volatile fatty acid (VFA)which produced more gain.
Excellâ„¢ produced more propionate reducing the acetate to propionate ratio from 5.1 to 4.75 which is an indicator of higher energy availability for growth.

The objective of this study was to measure the impact on rumen function and performance of pre-weaned calves offered a creep feed with Excellâ„¢ at five grams per head per day compared to creep alone.
Results of Excellâ„¢ Inclusion in the Creep:
 Excell™ in the creep gained 2.86 lbs. per day compared to 2.78 for calves fed only creep.
 Feed efficiency (G:F) on Excell™ calves was 11.2 % better requiring 0.78 lb. less feed for gain.
